World at War is as polished and tightly scripted as its predecessors, but there is an extra layer of brutality and graven violence that helps to create an experience unlike any shooter in recent memory. The game takes players through the brutally vengeful campaigns in the Pacific and as the Russians pushed into Berlin. Call of Duty: World at War jumps back into the fray hoping to prove that WWII isn't through with us just yet. ![]() According to the popular version of Trostky's mistranslated aphorism, "You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you." The same sentiment could be applied to the World War II fatigue that seems to be afflicting many game enthusiasts.
